With support from viaSport and the viaSport BC Sport Provincial Development Fund, Curl BC is launching the Youth Try Curling program to help our member facilities introduce more young people to the sport.
Participating clubs that host a Youth Try Curling event will have their event featured above and promoted through geographically targeted social media advertising designed to reach potential new curlers in their local communities.
In addition, select clubs may be eligible for funding to help cover expenses such as ice fees, coach honorariums, coach education, and youth equipment. Funding amounts will depend on the number of participating clubs. Facilities selected to receive funding will be notified by September 30, 2026.
Participating clubs will also receive:
- A Youth Try Curling lesson plan template
- Training webinar resources
- A customizable poster template that can be adapted with your club’s logo and event information
To have your event listed on this page and included in Curl BC’s promotional campaign, please complete these steps:
- Complete this webform.
- Submit the event information into our event calendar (Be sure to choose “Youth Try Curling” in the Categories section.)
Important information:
- Anyone leading youth activities at your club must have a valid criminal record check and have completed NCCP Safe Sport training.
- It is recommended that each event have at least one trained or certified coach (either a Club Coach or Competition Coach).
- Additional funding will prioritize clubs in rural and remote communities.
