APPLICATION PROCESS
Application opens on April 5, 2024 for all athletes who are 25 years or older based on Curling Canada’s LTCD. Priority will be given to gold medalists at BC provincial championships, followed by podium finishers. In addition, athletes are expected to be actively competing and have a dedicated training plan for the upcoming season. The application is due on April 26th 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Application Form
Upon acceptance to the program, payment will be due on May 31, 2024. The fees for the 2024 program are 250$ for Train to Excel athletes.
Payment – $250+tax due upon acceptance
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance to the program on April 30, 2024. Upon acceptance, athletes will attend a mandatory zoom meeting on May 5, 2024. This meeting will outline the structure of the program, new changes that have been made to better support the athletes, and the required deadlines and documentation. Applicants who fail to meet deadlines and to submit required documentation will have their funding and status in the HP program suspended.

Additionally, for the 24/25 season, HP athletes will have access to dedicated regional training centers. Details will be provided to athletes upon acceptance to the program. .
Train to excel athletes will also be entitled to incentive funding based on World Curling Tour and CTRS/CMDR rankings as of December 5, 2024. Eligible athletes will be contacted by December 5, and will be required to submit a brief document outlining their fall season in order to receive the incentive funds.
BENEFITS
The 2024/25 HP Program aims to best serve the athletes as they work towards their goals of being on the podium at provincial and national events. Benefits include, but are not limited to:
- Access to HP hours at designated regional training centers
- Potential to access an HP coach during this time
- Access to technical equipment including speed traps, video analysis systems including tools to analyze LOD and release
- Monthly individualized guidance with an HP mentor coach
- Discuss and identify any gaps in current training environment and structure
- Plan, prepare and set goals for training and competitions
- Individualized coaching on 5 benchmarks
- This coaching is in alignment with CC technical guidance and updated technical model
- Coaching will provide guidance and begin to familiarize athletes with the process of being involved with a NTP style system
- Regular assessment and review of 5 benchmark pillars providing motivation and direct feedback on athlete growth and development
- Access to IST support
- Webinars
- Training opportunities/invitational days to RTC for specific topics such as sweeping, video analysis, tactics
- Enhanced DTE and access to individualized training plans in coordination with HP coaches
- Access to CSI Pacific carding (eligible athletes only)
- Access to incentive funding (details will be provided upon acceptance to program)
