For the advancement of the sport of curling through the development of athletes and coaches.
The Gordon Hooey scholarship fund is administered through the Victoria Foundation in perpetuity. Ideally, it will go to juniors interested in becoming coaches, but it could also support the post-secondary education of juniors who have demonstrated a commitment to becoming top-level curlers and who show leadership skills in their communities.
It is not given as cash grants, but goes directly to the Canadian institution or organization to which the applicants are applying.
Applications must be received at the Curl BC office, to the attention of the Awards Committee, no later than midnight (PST) on January 31 annually.
How to apply: Complete the Application Form (click here). All applications must include: 2 references (1 from someone who knows you through curling), proof of acceptance or registration at a post secondary institution, and a cover letter.
