PCMCA Award Recipient – Keiran Stephan
The winner of this year’s Pacific Coast Masters Curling Association (PCMCA) Award is Keiran Stephan.
He is fairly new to the game of curling, picking it up three years ago at the Kimberley Curling Club when he moved there from Vancouver with his family.
“I wanted to try a new sport and make some new friends, so I chose curling,” said Keiran. I’m glad I did as I love the sport and the coaches in Kimberley made the junior league very enjoyable.”
In just three short years, Keiran was the 2023 U18 Boys Sportsmanship award winner, competed at the 2024 BC High School Provincial Championships and the 2024 U21 Men’s Championships. He plans on continuing to curl as he heads to the University of Victoria to study music.
“Curling has played a substantial part of my life,” he said. “I have learned a lot about leadership through curling when skipping a team at the provincial level, and I have been able to meet a lot of different people throughout BC while attending provincial competitions. I am so happy that I chose curling as a sport and I am excited for what’s to come in the future.”
Congratulations to Keiran Stephan, our PCMCA Scholarship award recipient.
Awarded annually in the amount of $1,000, the PCMCA scholarship funded by the Pacific Coast Masters Curling Association was established in 2023. It provides funds to young curlers attending college or university who have demonstrated leadership and athletic abilities which have been a benefit to the sport of curling.
