Nominate a hero
Curl BC is excited to announce a new contest in the run-up to the 2021 hub city event in Calgary.
The event will feature the 2021 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and 2021 Tim Hortons Brier, presented by AGI, as well as the 2021 Home Hardware Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship and 2021 BKT Tires & OK Tire World Men’s Curling Championship.
BCLC and Curl BC, along with the Curling’s Capital hub city event, have partnered to celebrate the work of curlers who have gone above and beyond to support their community during this pandemic.
Do you know someone that has made a positive impact in your community during the pandemic? Perhaps a curler that is also a teacher, first responder, or front-line worker and been a rock star at it? If you have someone in mind that you would like to nominate please let us know!
Three winners will be selected and will be celebrated through Curling Canada and Curl BC’s social media channels. Their stories will be told throughout the Curling Capital hub city events in Calgary.
The three winners will receive BCLC swag baskets valued at $500, as well as $500 cheques for their respective curling club. They will also have their image printed onto a fan cut-out. These cut-outs would be visible through the duration of the televised Hub City curling events. The event starts with the Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Feb. 19 and wraps up with the BKT Tires & OK Tire World Men’s Curling Championship final on April 11.
The nominee must be 19 years or older and be a member of a Curl BC-affiliated curling club, or have been in the 2019-20 or 2020-21 season. The nominee must also consent to having their image and story used for promotion.

The winners will be selected by Curl BC and our partners at the Curling Capital after the deadline of Jan. 25, 2021.
