Victoria Curling Club Named Curling Canada Regional Performance Centre
The Victoria Curling Club (VCC) has been selected as one of 5 clubs from across Canada designated as a Curling Canada Regional Performance Centre. The Centre is a partnership between Curling Canada, Curl BC, and the Victoria Curling Club, aimed at providing a high-performance training environment for up-and-coming curlers at the U-18, U-21, and U-25 levels, as well as those already competing at the highest national and international levels. The program will offer curlers access to competition-level ice and curling rocks, coaching services and specialized training resources.
This partnership builds upon the VCC High Performance Institute program and CurlBC Regional Training Centre initiatives launched last season. VCC, Curl BC and Curling Canada staff will work together to offer training camps, individual and team training sessions and other programming to support the development of provincial and national level curlers.
VCC has a long and proud tradition of high performance curling. In 2024/25, VCC teams won provincial championships in Men’s (Team DeJong), Mixed (Team Craig) and Senior Men’s (Team Dangerfield) and came second in Women’s (Team MacMillan).
VCC curlers also competed in the Canadian Olympic mixed doubles trials, and 2024 Pan Continental Curling Championships.
