The New Season is Here! – CEO Message
Welcome back for another great season of curling in BC. The Curl BC Board and staff have been working hard during the summer months to get ready for your return as follows:
- We are excited to welcome Driftwood Brewery as Curl BC’s Official Beer Supplier!
- A new Curl BC website has been launched. There will be some minor bugs so please let Bryan Chan, bchan@curlbc.ca, know if you encounter any. We hope the new site is much more user-friendly, especially with the search function and more streamlined menus.
- Registration for BC Championships has just started. Entering is a key motivational step for you and your team’s Fall training program!
- A number of educational and training opportunities are currently available including Coaching Courses, Ice Tech Courses, Hit Draw Tap and RockFest Qualifiers. Read the rest of this issue for more.
- The Curl BC Board’s Philanthropy Committee has been reactivated to help raise funds for curling throughout BC.
- Curl BC’s monthly 50/50 will begin again in September with draws held at 12:00 noon on the 15th of each month beginning in October.
Members of Curl BC’s staff and Board have developed an ambitious plan to meet with representatives from each club over the next 3 months. The focus of the meetings will be to facilitate each club’s access to the benefits Curl BC provides and to gain a greater understanding of every club’s specific needs and requirements. If your club would like to set up a meeting time, please contact Gavin Johnson, gjohnson@curlbc.ca, who will begin scheduling Zoom meetings in September.
