Scottish Ladies’ Tour to BC Concludes with Friendship, Competition, and Community Impact
Curl BC is proud to celebrate the successful conclusion of the 2025 Scottish Ladies’ Tour to British Columbia. Over three unforgettable weeks, 24 Scottish curlers travelled across the province, sharing competition, culture, and camaraderie with curlers from 19 BC clubs.
A heartfelt thank you goes to coordinators Roxie Giles and Laura Rampton, whose exceptional leadership, care, and countless hours of organization made this tour truly special. We also extend our thanks to every host club, volunteer, piper, meal-maker, driver, and community member who helped showcase the very best of curling hospitality in BC.

Scottish Women’s Tour to Canada 2025 — Report from Coordinators Roxie Giles & Laura Rampton
The twenty-four Scottish curlers have returned home to Scotland with the Muriel Fage Trophy and wonderful memories of British Columbia. The competition was close, with Scotland scoring 775 points to Canada’s 735 points.
The Friendship Curling Tour represents all that is good about the sport of curling—friendly competition between amateur teams from two main curling nations, traditionally held every 5 years since 1955. It depends upon volunteers from both countries who give hundreds of hours of their time to organise a tour that combines curling, sightseeing, accommodations and transportation.
By all reports, the Scottish Women’s Tour of 2025 was a huge success. The 19 BC Curling Clubs who hosted the tour greeted the Scots with pipers and pageantry, served a delicious meal, gave unique gifts and offered life-long friendship after competing fiercely on the ice. Thank you to all the host clubs and curlers.
The Tour Couriers, Roxie, Laura, Pam and Jay, ensured the visitors felt well cared for, including taking curlers for medical attention and providing tonic to go with late-night toasts of gin.
With Christmas coming and the pound strong, the visitors enjoyed the local shops—and Lululemon made a “killing.”
One of Roxie’s highlights was making the women of BC aware of the history of the Friendship Tour and encouraging women to apply to go to Scotland in 2030. For those who can’t wait, there is talk of a BC group of curlers organizing to go to Scotland.
Laura appreciated how the Scots lived in the moment, showed their appreciation to everyone they met, and entertained each group with their hilarious skit, “If I was not upon this tour.” Focused curling was followed by lots of fun and friendship. Who can forget Elvis, the Ceilidh, shooting the broom and dancing the night away?
From seeing the beauty of British Columbia (False Creek, Whistler, the Okanagan, Cathedral Grove) to learning our history and our desire for reconciliation with First Nations (Museum of Anthropology, Kamloops Residential School and Audain Gallery) the Scottish women were enlightened and entertained each day of their tour.
Special appreciation to Bren McCullough, driver and owner of McCullough Coach Lines. His professionalism, knowledge and safe driving made the travel a dream—not to mention his patience with all the luggage!

Being the tour coordinators and couriers was a highlight in both our lives. We felt great pride in showing our guests the beauty and hospitality of British Columbia.
So we say Auld Lang Syne until the next Friendship Tour in 2030.

Supporting KidSport: A Lasting Legacy of the 2025 Friendship Tour
This year’s Friendship Tour made a meaningful impact off the ice as well, raising $4,000 for KidSport BC.
Last year, KidSport BC was able to provide $2,000 to help young curlers access the sport. Thanks to the tour’s generosity, that support can now double—opening the door for even more young athletes to join their local curling programs.

- Register your child in an eligible sport program.
