Long-Time Vancouver CC Member Retires
Brock Tully, a long-time member of the Vancouver Curling Club, is retiring from competitive curling on his 79th birthday.
Brock started curling at the age of 14 and quickly made his mark, skipping a team to win the Pacific Northwest Championship at just 16. Over the years, he also led his team to a Vancouver Curling Club Club Championship and competed in the BC Club Team finals in Chilliwack.
“My biggest takeaways from my time curling with Brock at the VCC were his combination of Kindness and Competitiveness.” – Dustin Koch, teammate
“When I was younger, I remember I had a book, With Hope We Can All Find the Ogopogo. It was uplifting and centered around kindness and gratitude. I loved it and read it several times between the ages of 8 and 15. As fate had it, 30 years later, by happenstance, I would curl with Brock at the Vancouver Curling Club.” – Ryan Schmidt
A dedicated member of the VCC community, Brock has contributed to the club both on and off the ice for many years. While he is stepping back from competitive play due to health reasons, his presence and participation have left a lasting impression on those around him.
