Insurance, Deadlines & Support for Clubs – CEO’s Message
I hope your new season of curling is off to a great start. A priority for Curl BC this Fall is to make sure we have one-on-one discussions with leaders from each of our member facilities. We want to hear from you directly regarding any questions or concerns you may have.
We would also like to gain a greater understanding of the status of your curling centre and any projects you may need help addressing including capital fundraising campaigns. If you are a Curling Centre President or Manager, please click on this link to a request a meeting.
With regard to member benefits, we’re delighted to confirm we are now providing Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) coverage for all curlers at each member facility regardless of how many times they curl in the year. PAI coverage has previously just been included for regular curlers playing 4 times or more.
Curl BC is absorbing this extra cost to help member facilities with the marketing of their introductory and corporate programs. In return, we require each curling centre to submit a list of their total number of casual visitors (curling 3 times or fewer) during the year. The centre should have access to the names of all these individuals as well, but Curl BC just needs the total number of unique visitors by May 31st, 2026.
A reminder of the following Affiliation Reporting deadlines for regular curlers:
- Fall registration report due Nov. 1st with payment due Nov. 30th
- Winter registration report due Mar. 1st with payment due Mar. 31st
And finally, Curl BC’s monthly 50/50 is back with over $2,000 in sales the first day. 40% of the proceeds go to participating member organizations so please support by buying tickets here. Check out the Affiliated Association section for some new programs and events you can also support.
Good curling!
