VANCOUVER, B.C. — Three days of the 2026 BC Club Curling Championships have quickly come and gone at the Vancouver Curling Club. As the preliminary round enters its final draws Saturday, with the playoffs approaching, certain teams have set themselves up as strong contenders.

On the women’s side, four teams are tied with a 2-1 record: Team Comadina, Team Gushulak, Team Lu, and Team Powell. With two games to go, and head-to-head as the first tiebreaker to qualify for playoffs, there is all to play for in the last two games. Powell was the only team to win both games on Friday, and they did so in convincing fashion with 8-0 and 9-1 victories. They’ll be looking to take that momentum into the weekend with big games against Comadina and Gushulak on the horizon.

Team Adelsberger sits at 1-2 and will need to have a big Saturday to leapfrog the teams above them. Three of the six teams will qualify for Sunday’s Playoffs, with first place advancing to the Final and second and third facing off in the Semi Final.

For the men, two pools of eight teams are competing, with the pool winners advancing directly to the Semi Finals which will be played on Sunday morning. The next four best records overall will round out the playoff field, competing in the Quarter Finals on Saturday night.

With two more draws of pool play left on Saturday, Team Tolley has positioned themselves at the top of Pool A with a 6-0 record. In their final game Saturday morning, they matchup against the 5-1 Team Craig. The winner of that game will win Pool A.
