January Draw of Curl BC Monthly 50/50

January 15, 2024

The first draw of the 2024 Curl BC Monthly 50/50 Raffle is in the books!

Congratulations to Sharon Taylor from Enderby for winning a fantastic prize of $12,230 from a prize pot totaling $24,460!

Until recently, Sharon was the Ice Technician at Enderby and District Curling Club. “Our Club had to stop operating earlier this month because of ice plant issues. We are closed for the season so everyone was devastated. I was the Ice Tech here from 2012 to 2018, and I have just returned to the job a few weeks ago. The job of an ice tech is my calling. My contract had to end abruptly so this prize is a timely boost. I couldn’t believe it as I have never won anything. The curling god is looking after us!”

This draw has benefitted 75 out of 91 member facilities and affiliated associations. A special mention to the top 10 in ticket sales:

  • Kelowna Curling Club – $1,580
  • Terrace Curling Club – $1,490
  • Invermere Curling Club – $1,140
  • Kerry Park Curling Club – $970
  • Dawson Creek Curling Club – $890
  • Comox Valley Curling Club – $820
  • Kamloops Curling Club – $800
  • Fort St. John Curling Club – $590
  • Nanaimo Curling Centre – $590
  • Qualicum & District Curling Club – $520

And congratulations to the following clubs for winning the Facility Draw:

  • Castlegar Curling Club – Belairdirect Insurance $100 gift certificate
  • Williams Lake Curling Club – Best Western Hotels $100 gift certificate
  • Taylor Curling Club – Salt Spring Coffee gift basket valued at $100
