Joseph Benjamin McArthur of Rossland, British Columbia was the first president of the British Columbia Curling Association in 1898.
J.B. McArthur was born in Middlesex, Ontario, and practiced law in Ontario and Manitoba before coming to B.C. He settled in Rossland in 1895, where he practiced law and served as president/general manager of several mining companies in the area.
McArthur was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1974.
