Finalizing our 2024-25 competitive schedule
Curl BC is pleased to confirm its competitive schedule for the 2024-25 season: HERE. A big thank you to all the representatives of curling centres which put their hands up to host including: Abbotsford, Barriere, Chilliwack, Cloverdale, Cranbrook, Delta, Golden Ears, Kelowna (Brier), Kimberley, Langley, Oliver, Prince George (Western Blind) and Vancouver (Invictus Games). We couldn’t do it without you and your wonderful volunteers!
Curl BC is also actively looking for host sites for the 2025-26 season. Since it is a Winter Olympic & Paralympic year, the schedule is tight so it would be very helpful if you can let us know you are interested as soon as possible. Please contact Sherri Taylor at staylor@curlbc.ca.
For those of you promoting youth curling, the age eligibility criteria for the 2026 BC Winter Games in Trail is changing. Please refer to the article included in this newsletter. Ideally, this season, we can begin to prepare boys and girls teams from all 8 Zones of the province to enter the BC Winter Games playdowns in December 2025 and January 2026.
With regard to Curl BC’s AGM at 7:00 pm, Thursday, June 13th, there is still time to register: Register here. We need at least 20% (18) of the member facilities present to form a quorum. The Club’s President is the voting delegate unless they have signed off on another delegate carrying the club’s vote. Four new Board members will be elected and two new Life Members will be recommended to the membership so we hope you will join us in recognizing their service to curling in BC.
Hopefully see on the 13th.
