The Golden Ears Winter Club (GEWC) is a curling facility located in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, offering a welcoming environment for curlers of all skill levels. Established to promote the sport of curling, the club provides various programs and events for both new and experienced participants.

Facilities and Features:

• Ice Sheets: GEWC features six sheets of curling ice, accommodating multiple leagues and events simultaneously.

• Accessibility: The facility is fully accessible, ensuring all members of the community can participate in curling activities.

• Lounge: A comfortable lounge area is available for members and guests to relax and socialize.

Leagues and Programs:

• Novice/Beginner League: Designed for individuals new to curling, this league runs once a week for 11 weeks from September to December and 9 weeks from January to March. Sessions are held on Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, focusing on skill development and fun. All necessary equipment is provided.

• Junior Program: Catering to youth aged 9 to 18, the junior program offers sessions on Wednesdays and Saturdays from September to March. The program emphasizes skill development in a supportive environment.

• Competitive and Recreational Leagues: GEWC hosts various leagues, including Men’s, Women’s, Mixed, and Open Fun leagues, providing opportunities for both competitive play and social engagement.

Events and Bonspiels:

• Open Summer Spiel: An annual event typically held in September, the Open Summer Spiel is a 24-team open tournament with a fun, Western-themed atmosphere, featuring multiple games and social activities.
