Chris Summers named new Coach Developer Coordinator
Curl BC is excited to announce Chris Summers as the new Coach Developer Coordinator.
The role is designed to be a leader for our Coach Developer Team and assist our Education Manager in preparing, organizing and delivering NCCP coaching courses, as well as providing professional development opportunities to our coaches.
“I am excited to take on this new role with Curl BC. Coaching and coach development is very important to me, and this role is an important one in continuing to improve coaching and grow the game within our province,” said Chris.
Chris has an extensive curling resume and has already been working with Curl BC as a High Performance Coach, Coach Developer, and Rockslide Camp Coach. He is also the Head Coach at both the Vancouver and Marpole Curling Clubs.
“Chris has been a great Coach Developer leader, training coaches all throughout the province. I am grateful to have worked with him many times in my two years at Curl BC and am excited for this new role for him.” Said Paul Cseke, Curl BC Education and Youth Development Manager.
Curl BC wants to thank Karen Watson for her many years of service as the Curl BC Coach Developer Coordinator and Master Learning Facilitator (MLF). While she will continue on to support Chris, and stay on as a MLF to support our coaches, she is stepping back from the Coordinator role. We are grateful for Karen’s contributions to Curling and specifically coaching in BC.
