Grants available to host curling Try-It Days

Curling centres can get $300 in funding to host Try-it Day events for Sports Day in Canada.

The organizers of Sports Day in Canada – ParticipACTION, True Sport and CBC Sports - are expanding their reach in BC through a partnership with the BC Ministry of Health.

In the week leading up to and including September 29, more than 1,000 communities and sports organizations will host a variety of local events that help build momentum for Sports Day. Events will range from community-wide festivals to open houses, games, competitions, meet-and-greets, tournaments and fun runs.

Curling centres can get involved by planning and registering their own BC Try-It Day event to take place between September 24 and September 29.

Give the people in your community the opportunity to experience a new sport and your organization could be eligible for up to $300 in support through the BC Try-it Days Event Grants.

To apply for a BC Try-It Days Grant, fill out an online form here.

The deadline is Friday, August 24, 2012.

Register your event at the Sports Day in Canada website soon and receive a free event celebration kit with materials such as banners, tattoos and posters.
