Get involved with Sports Day in Canada

Curling centres across the province are invited to join a national celebration of sport at all levels – and it could lead to your centre being showcased on a CBC Sports broadcast.

More than 600 events are already registered for Sports Day in Canada – you can check them out at http://sportsday.cbc.ca/eventlist.

Get your organization involved by hosting a local event taking place in the week leading up to and including Sports Day.

Plan and register an open house, try-it day, local athlete meet-and-greet, community-wide festival, sports assembly, tournament or mayor’s sport challenge—it’s up to you! Plan something new, or register something you’re already doing and invite the public to join you.

Sports Day in Canada, held this year on Saturday, September 29, 2012 is presented by ParticipACTION, True Sport and CBC Sports, working with national and provincial sporting organizations and their networks of coaches, athletes and enthusiasts.

The Sports Day in Canada website offers free promotional tools, such as posters and media kits.  A free event celebration kit with materials such as banners, tattoos and posters is available while supplies last. Your centre could also feature on a CBC Sports broadcast, airing on Saturday, September 29.
