Curl BC High Performance Program 2010/11
Curl BC, supported by our funding partners, will be providing an assortment of programs and services, enabling athletes and coaches to identify what they need to do to continue in their development and training, as they aim to reach their level of excellence.
The Curl BC High Performance Program is open to all athletes and coaches in the province, however, applicants will be tiered based on their placement on the Curl BC ranking list as well as their previous two year’s provincial podium finish. All program applicants, received by the deadline date, will be under the direction of either the Curl BC Provincial Coach or Regional Coach. Once funding amounts are determined (June 2010), the Provincial Coach will establish the specific program details, with changes expected from previous seasons.
If you are considering being a part of the HP Program, please send in a letter of application to Provincial Coach Melissa Soligo ac.cblrucnull@ogiloskm by May 12th, 2010. Canadian Sport Centre – Pacific’s deadline for consideration of carding is May 31st, 2010 and is non-negotiable. Please note, that we cannot guarantee all applicants will receive a Canadian Sport Centre – Pacific card.
The letter of application should include the following:
• name(s) of athlete/team and positions (if known)
• email and phone number for each athlete
• coach’s name, level of certification and contact information (if applicable)
• goals for the 2010/2011 season
• indicate what leagues, spiels and practices the team expects to participate in
• what development areas are you looking to improve on this year
Once the program is underway, our Curl BC coaches will assist with gap analysis and a more detailed training plan for each team or athlete. The training plan will address where you believe you are now and where you need to be to reach your stated goal.
Any questions, please contact Melissa directly, at the email above. Information regarding the program details will be update on the Curl BC website as soon as possible.
