Fields set for 2010 Junior Men’s & Women’s BC Curling Championships
Richmond, BC (December 7, 2009) – The fields are set for both the 2010 Junior Men’s & Women’s Curling Championships to be hosted at the Juan de Fuca Curling Club December 26-31, 2009.
The Junior Men’s playoff includes Stuart Merrified (Victoria), Chase Martyn (Chilliwack), Josh Hozak (Victoria), Tyler Klymchuk (Langley), Charlie Keates (Kamloops), Justin Nillson (Kelowna), Nick Cliff (Armstrong) and Jonathan Gardner (Vernon.)
The Junior Women’s side includes Randi Ludwar (Grand Forks), Brooklyn Leitch (Cloverdale), Dailene Sivertson(Victoria), Jackie Korn (Victoria), Amanda McAulay (Richmond), Jennfier Gerow (Vernon), Kayla Gunner (Armstrong) and Laine Bourassa (Prince George.)
Both the Junior Men’s and Junior Women’s winners will advance to the National Junior Curling Championship held in Sorel-Tracey, Quebec, January 16-24, 2010.
In other playdowns, Jennifer Fewster (Prince George) has qualified for the 2010 Scotties BC Curling Championship presented by Best Western to be held in Penticton January 3-10, 2010. Michael Dahms also from Prince George qualified for the BC Men’s Interior Championship hosted at the McArthur Island Curling Clun January 14-17, 2010 with an extra victory over John Shephard of Williams Lake.
