World’s First Indoor Long Shot Curling Competition Reminder
Kenzen Long Shot Contest
Richmond, BC (November 26, 2009) – How far could you throw a curling rock if there was no back board to stop it? Curlers will have the chance to find out this Saturday when curling takes over the Richmond Olympic Oval for a one day, once in a lifetime opportunity. Participants can buy tickets ($20) for the opportunity to throw one curling rock as far as they can down the Richmond Olympic Oval speed skating ice. Equipment will be available for non-curlers who would also like to participate. The ice length will be approximately 400 feet long, which is roughly four times the length of a regular sheet of curling ice. Participants will compete in one of eight categories with prizes being awarded to the competitor in each category who throws the rock the farthest. Full event details can be found here.
