Kenzen Long Shot Contest
How far do you think you could throw a curling rock if there were no back boards to stop it?
Come find out on Nov. 28th at the Richmond Olympic Oval. For just $20 you can purchase a ticket to throw a curling rock on a sheet of ice that is over 400 feet long. The speed skating ice at the Richmond Oval will be transformed into a curling sheet for one day only.
Each ticket will grant the participant one chance to throw a curling rock as far as the can. Distances will be recorded and the participant will be given a certificate of completion that includes their distance thrown. Participants will also receive an $8 Kenzen product and a free pass to the BC Sports Hall of Fame.
The winners of the following eight categories will have their names placed on a plaque in the BC Sports Hall of Fame and will also receive an iPod Nano:
Juvenile Girls (16 & under)
Juvenile Boys (16 & under)
Men (17 – 49 years)
Women (17 – 49 years)
Senior Men (50+ years)
Senior Women (50+ years)
Open Wheelchair
Open Stick
A larger prize for hitting the button is still to be determined.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity as the ice in the Richmond Oval will be removed after the Olympic and Paralympic Games this winter.
Time slots:
9:00am – 12:30pm: Juveniles, Seniors, Wheelchair and Stick
11:30am – 3:30pm: Men & Women
